Release Sandeshkhali BJP leader Mampi Das from jail: Calcutta HC
Deoghar Police has made significant strides in combating drug trafficking, as they conducted a successful raid in Ghormara, resulting in the seizure of five bags of brown sugar weighing approximately 25 grams. Three individuals were apprehended during the operation, with Deoghar SDPO Hrithik Srivastava announcing the achievement in a press conference. The crackdown comes as part of the police's ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse through continuous campaigns, prompted by intelligence indicating illegal trading of brown sugar in the Ghoramara market.
According to Srivastava, the police received confidential information about three individuals engaged in illicit buying and selling of brown sugar in Ghoramara. Acting on this tip-off, a police team conducted a raid in the area, resulting in the arrest of the accused individuals and the seizure of five packets of brown sugar, along with two motorcycles and two mobile phones. Investigations reveal that the arrested individuals were involved in smuggling brown sugar from Bengal to Deoghar, engaging in both distribution and consumption of the illicit substance. Police authorities emphasize the need for rigorous enforcement to curtail the trafficking and use of brown sugar within Deoghar.
